We’re really proud of our fishermen (and women) and the freshness and quality of their catch, but don’t just take our word for it. Here are some of our loyal members who have bought themselves a scaler and filleting knife, taught themselves fish prep by watching our videos, and are really getting into the spirit of our venture.
Andrew lives just down the road from our first collection point and has supported us from the start.
“In resolving to be a more ethical consumer, being a repeat customer of Faircatch is one of the ways I feel I can express my support for a more sustainable world whilst knowing the food I’m eating is much fresher than anything I could buy from a supermarket. I’ve found it good fun to use YouTube to research and learn how to fillet the fish I’ve received. It might be a little bit more effort to fillet the fish but well worth it for the freshness and to know I’m supporting small fishermen and buying a sustainable product. I hope many families in Wandsworth, like me, will support it by becoming a repeat customer”.
You can tell Nico really relishes his fresh fish and he’s just re-subscribed for another season at the Draft House. What’s not to love, you can grab a cheeky afternoon beer at the same time! On the evidence here, his knife skills look pretty good…
As a health professional, our member Gill knows a bit about healthy eating and is delighted to no longer be reliant on allegedly “fresh” fish from supermarkets which is anything but….
