Two of our favourite fishers are Peter and Chantelle Williams, who hail from Emsworth, just an hour away at the bottom of the A3, which is the reason why we can meet up to collect the catch on Friday morning and it’s in our members shopping bags at 3.30pm.
Peter takes great pride in sustainable fishing, using low-impact, environmentally-sound methods that reduce waste and do no damage to the sea bed. He was the first fisherman to pilot a Community Supported Fishery in the UK (Catchbox), is a trustee of Fishing into the future and has had the pleasure of meeting Prince Charles and Monty Halls, whose series The Fishermen’s apprentice was the inspiration for Faircatch.
Peter is the proud owner of boat Sarah C – SE121, she is a Cygnus GM under 10 meter boat, which he pushes to her limits working 7 days a week in all weathers. His family are fully behind the family business with Chantelle helping on the boat and their daughter Alishia loves getting involved too.
